The College Office will be closed from 3.00pm, Friday, 13 December and will re-open at 9.00am on Tuesday 21 January 2025. Ngā mihi o te kirihimete me te tau hou. Have a blessed Christmas and happy New Year.

Simon Buck

Simon has worked in the wine industry for 30 years and owns wine importing, distribution and brokerage business Wine Dog Imports which has a focus on wines from Aotearoa. He is the US brand ambassador for Te Mata Estate.

After living in Brooklyn, New York, for 14 years, Simon is now north of the city in the Hudson Valley close to the Berkshire Mountains. He maintains a link with home through regular catch-ups with Kiwis now living in New York.

"I loved my time at St Pat's and am blessed to still be in touch with the bulk of my friends from the 1984-1988 era. Sean Darroch (Head Boy 1988) is my Airbnb host when I’m in New York City and we try to catch up with mates Simon Read (Charleston, South Carolina) and Jason ‘Moose’ Lamborne (Miami, Florida) whenever we can.’

We finish the conversation with a laugh and 'got to love the 80's' memory from Simon’s time the 2nd XI, ‘taking a keg to cricket back in 1988 wasn’t the smartest thing to do but the level of play required as much".

Simon will back in New Zealand in February 2025 and looks forward to reconnecting with more Old Boys then.

Thanks to Simon, Sean, Simon Read, Jason and their fellow Old Boys from the late 80’s for joining together to buy a square metre of turf to support the resurface project.
