Welcome to Performing Arts at St Patrick’s College

"We must all do theatre – to find out who we are, and to discover who we could become" - Augusto Boal

Drama is an important part of life at St. Patrick’s College.  It provides opportunities for students to develop a sense of belonging, support and encourage others, learn about leadership, and work together.  The subject also explores the values of integrity, manaakitanga and achievement in different contexts.

Drama is an optional subject at all five levels in a variety of both single-level and composite classes. Through a mixture of in-class work, and public performances, students grow into actors and performers over the course of the year. They also learn about the rich and complex history of theatre in Aoteoroa and abroad.

The most recent productions for St. Patrick’s College included Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, Lord of the Flies, and Wheeler’s Luck.
