David Chote

David Chote is a familiar voice to many, often heard providing football commentary on radio and television.

After leaving St Pat’s in 1981, David went on to spend 30 plus years in the financial services industry. He is married to Leanne, they have daughters Emma and Sophie and a son Adam who is also an Old Boy of the College.

As he was in his SPC days, David has remained passionate about sport particularly his football. He played for New Zealand between 1986-1990 and is a stalwart of Miramar Rangers Football Club appearing multiple times on their honours board.

David’s enduring memory of his time at the College is the lifelong friendships made. 'Old boys of St Pats tend to stick together and that has certainly been my experience. I was lucky to have spend a year at the old college in Tory Street before we marched through the Mt Victoria tunnel to take up residence in our Evans Bay home. Having a son and nephews go through the college it has been a treat to see to school develop over the years.'
