The Senior Ball is to be held at the Hunter Lounge at Victoria University this Saturday night for our Year 12 and 13 students. This will be a wonderful evening and we remind all students attending the Ball that the College expects the highest standard of behaviour before, during and after the ball.
DATES TO DIARY FOR NEXT WEEK: Saturday 1 July – Year 12 and 13 College Ball at the Hunter Lounge at Victoria University. Monday 3 July –Parents’ Association Meeting at 7.30pm in the staffroom. Wednesday 5 July – Home-School Partnership meeting in the hall at 6pm and Regional Kapa Haka at Otaki. Friday 7 July – Taylorfest. Students to come in creative costume. Term 2 ends and newsletter available.
KAPA HAKA: We wish our Combined Kapa Haka group all the best for the Kapa Haka Regionals in Otaki next Wednesday. They have a dress rehearsal performance this Sunday in our hall at 2pm. All welcome. Gold coin donation.
HOME-SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP: All families are warmly invited to attend the second Home-School Partnership meeting of the year next Wednesday 5 July at 6pm in the hall. The focus for this session is Course Selection for 2018 and Understanding NCEA. Our Poly Club will also perform 3 of their items for the Tu Tangata Festival. We look forward to seeing you there.
SELECTION OF REPLACEMENT TRUSTEE FOR THE COLLEGE’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES: As previously notified, a casual vacancy arose on the BoT with the resignation of Silefagamalii Asi earlier in the year. The BoT is pleased to announce that Mr Sonny Mulitalo was formally selected and appointed as an elected parent representative at the Board meeting held on Wednesday 28 June.
TAYLORFEST: As is our tradition the last week of Term is our Creative Week known as Taylorfest in honour of former Art teacher, Mr Rob Taylor. There are a range of creative competitions and performances during the week. On Friday 7 July students are encouraged to dress up – the theme is “The Journey”. There are no classes on Friday – instead we have a variety of activities culminating in the interhouse singing and and haka competition at 1.40pm.
MOTHER & SON DINNER: The tickets for the Mother and Son Dinner are now on sale. This is an annual event hosted by the St Patrick’s College Women’s Group. Get in early to secure your tickets for a great night out with your son and to meet other mothers and sons. The dinner will be held on Thursday 10 August in the St Patrick’s College hall. Tickets are $30 each ($60 for a mother and one son) and are available for purchase from the school cashier. We are also looking for donations to our mother and son raffles. SPC RUGBY CLUB MAJOR RAFFLE: The prize is tickets for two, airfares exit WLG, accommodation and $500NZD spending money to the NRL Grand Final in Sydney, 30 September 2017 – 02 October 2017. Cost is $10 per ticket and all proceeds go to the Operational Costs for the Rugby Club. Raffle closes 31 July 2017 and drawn 11 August. NCEA PAYMENTS: 2017 NCEA fee $76.70 has now been attached to your son’s account, please be advised that payment must be made to the College by 29 August 2017. If you have a current Community Services Card, you can fill in a Financial Assistance form available from the cashier or from the NZQA website www.nzqa.govt.nz and the cost will be reduced to $20.
