SENIOR PRIZEGIVING at 7.30pm on Thursday 2 November is the culmination of the academic year for our Year 11, 12 and 13 students. It is always a wonderful occasion when we celebrate the academic success of our students. All students and their families are very welcome. Students wear formal uniform.

LEAVERS MASS at 1.30pm on Friday 3 November. All families are very welcome to join us for this Mass. All students in formal uniform on Friday please.

STUDY LEAVE: Please be aware that most senior students will be released for Study Leave on Friday 3 November. During the following weeks they are able to study at home or come into school and work with their teachers. The Library is available for quiet study but we do not want seniors coming in to socialise. Students do not need to wear uniform if they are coming into school to study. For most senior students NZQA external exams start on Thursday 9 November. Some seniors will be asked to continue to come to school regularly so we can help them complete internal assessments. Examination Entry slips which include every students exam timetable have been issued to senior students today. They must bring these slips to every external examination. Proper school uniform must be worn to exams. Please do your best to ensure your sons are organised.

Junior Assessment Week starts on Monday 6 November. Juniors will have exams in most of their subjects during that week.

SURVEY ON EXCELLENCE IN BOYS’ EDUCATION: The College has been invited, as one of 35 prominent boys’ schools to be involved with a research project on excellence in boys’ education. The research is being sponsored by the Association of Boys’ Schools of New Zealand. The project will provide significant information for the school as well as for boys’ education in New Zealand. As part of the research a survey is to be emailed to current staff, parents, recent Old Boys and Trustees of the College. It will take 20 -25 minutes to complete and will be due by the 10th November. It would be greatly appreciated if you could all find the time to complete the survey. The information collected is for research purposes only and will be held in strict confidence. A letter about the survey will be emailed early next week when the link to complete the survey is shared with you.

PAYMENT OF ATTENDANCE DUES TO THE ARCHDIOCESE OF WELLINGTON: The College has received a report listing families who have unpaid Attendance Dues for 2016 and 2017. The AoW are intending to send unpaid Attendance Dues owed for 2016 to a debt collection agency where there is no repayment plan in place, and will be contacting people by letter in the coming weeks. Please contact the AoW on 0800 462 725 if you owe money or want to commence an automatic payment. If you are experiencing financial hardship there is a facility for the Rector to rebate Attendance Dues. Please contact Gerardine Parkinson at the College if you wish to make an appointment to meet with the Rector about financial help.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP: The Second Hand Shop is open next week on Thursday 2 November from 12:50 – 1:40pm.

Kind regards
