Parent Weekly Update – 23 Feb

DATES TO DIARY FOR NEXT WEEK:

  • Monday 26 FebruaryYear 9 Camps commence. Redwood leaves from Wellington Railway Station on Monday 26 February. Roll call will be at 8am at the Station and the students will return via bus arriving at the College at 3pm on Wednesday 28 February.
  • Wednesday 28 February – Chanel meet for roll call at 9am at the College and bus out to camp returning Friday 2 March by bus.

NEW BOARD CHAIR: At our first Board of Trustee meeting this week Mr Paul Berry stood down as Chairman. Our new Chairman is Mr John Campbell and our new Deputy Chairman is Mr Sonny Mulitalo.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION BIG BOY’S BREAKFAST: On Friday 16 March at 7am, the St Pat’s Parents’ Association will host the Big Boy’s Breakfast, an opportunity for our students with their father/uncle/grandfather or any other significant male in their life to start the St Patrick’s Day celebrations by attending a formal breakfast in the school hall. This year the breakfast is proudly sponsored by our architects Designgroup Stapleton Elliott. This is a wonderful annual school event with interesting speakers and raffles. Tickets are $20 per person and will be available for purchase from the school cashier from next Wednesday.

PARISH OF WELLINGTON SOUTH: The Parish of Wellington South invites students and families who live in Wellington South, and parishioners, to join in a Parish Day on Sunday 25 February at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion, 2 Rhine Street Island Bay. Masses are at 9am, 11am and 4pm. Hospitality will follow Masses with a picnic, games, Zumba and other activities during the afternoon. Tours of the Home and opportunities to learn more about the life and work of Suzanne Aubert and the Sisters of Compassion will also be offered. JAPANESE STUDENTS VISIT FROM 9 – 21 March 2018: Host families are required for 15 Japanese students arriving here on Friday 9 March and leaving Wednesday 21 March. If you live within a bus ride of the college and would like to host a student, or like more information please contact Maria either by phone 939 3070 EXT 264 (work), 027 418 7500 (mobile) or email maria.elenio@stpats.school.nz Each host family will be paid $600 for hosting one of these students for the 12 nights they are with us.
