YEAR 10 HEALTH DAY: On Thursday 16 November, we will be running our annual Year 10 Health Day. This is a chance for our year 10 students to learn and develop some skills related to their physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual health. We have invited some outside speakers to come and present some of the material. The day is broken up into 6 different sessions. These sessions include ‘Fetal Development’, ‘ Physical, Emotional and Social aspects of dating’, ‘Self Defence’, ‘Health of Mind and Body’ which will include a Christian Meditation session along with some Yoga or stretching exercises. There will also be a session run by a woman from the Red Cross called ‘Save a Mate’. In this session she will explore some of the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how to look after your friends when you are out. Finally there will be a session on ‘Pornography’ examining the detrimental effects it can have on individuals and society. Students will be in school uniform for the day.

NCEA EXAMS: For most senior students NZQA external exams start today – Friday 10 November. Some seniors have been asked to continue to come to school regularly so we can help them complete internal assessments. Examination Entry slips which include every students exam timetable have been issued to senior students. They must bring these slips to every external examination. Proper school uniform must be worn to exams. Please do your best to ensure your sons are organised. Morning exams start at 9.30am and afternoon exams at 2pm. Students should be ready 30 minutes before their exams.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP: The Second Hand Uniform Shop raises approximately $10,000 each year and is staffed by volunteers that are keen to provide a service to the College community. The funds raised are used to provide scholarships, hospitality events and donations to the College to purchase additional items for use by all boys. Thankyou for supporting the Second Hand Uniform Shop this year.
The Women’s Group would be most grateful for the donation of uniform items to be sold in the Second Hand Uniform Shop. Items can be dropped off at the College Office or brought to the Second Hand Uniform Shop during opening hours. If items are to be sold on commission please fill in the form available on the College website or from the office, and leave it with your items.
